These days so many of us struggle to feel good on a daily basis – perhaps its not having enough money to do the things you want to do. Perhaps it’s waking up each Monday morning and struggling to find the enthusiasm you need to make the commute into work. Maybe it’s your family life – your partner doesn’t help out enough around the house or maybe it’s as simple as you just need to find more time in your days.

My transformation started a few years back when I started seeing an amazing personal trainer at a small London gym by the name of Ben. I’d worked with trainers in the past who had mostly just taught me about exercise, but Ben was different – he also had amazing knowledge and passion about food. In the time I spent at G14, I was able to get a better understanding of how food affected me and I came to understand that feeling good had more to do with what I was eating than I could have ever imagined.
I started to eat a more Paleo-ish diet, cutting out gluten, dairy and sugar and my energy levels went through the roof – my skin glowed, my hair shined and I had energy to burn! It was here when people started asking me what I was doing and telling me how good I looked. I remember looking around the office at all of the tired, run down people and thinking that this isn’t the way life should be. You shouldn’t need a hit of coffee in the morning just to get you going, or a sugary snack in the afternoon as a pick me up. It really saddened me to look around and see these amazing, smart people living like this.
I have to admit that making the change wasn’t easy – being surrounded by all those tasty treats and seeing my colleagues shoot me strange glances when I said I didn’t want whatever sugary delight was being passed around was tough, but it was so worth it!

It’s a crazy planet we live on – half the world don’t have enough to eat and the other half are suffering from malnutrition from eating too much junk. I’m a big believer that food is the fuel for our lives and it’s the greatest defence we have against a myriad of diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes and Alzheimers. You only get one life, one body and one mind – let’s make the most of this time!
